#maui ridge to reef initiative

Hui O Ka Wai Ola, a community-based water-quality monitoring organization, was awarded funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to increase its collection of West Maui water quality data in response to the Lahaina wildfire.

The study is aimed at expanding on the work done under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration funded Wahikuli-Honokowai watershed study for the Honokahua, Kahana, and Honolua watersheds on Maui.
