Warning Level Surf Building Off Maui, Molokaʻi

A large, long-period northwest swell could carry 12 to 18 foot waves to the north and west-facing shores of Molokaʻi, Oʻahu, Kauaʻi, and Niʻihau, as well as Mauiʻs north shore this evening, the National Weather Service advised. 

NWS: Wind & Rain to Increase Over Next Few Days

Strengthening trade winds will bring moisture to Hawai‘i from the east which will interact with an approaching upper level trough from the north.

High Surf Advisory in Effect for North Maui

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for north-facing shores of Maui and north- and west-facing shores of Moloka‘i, in effect thru 6 p.m Monday.

High Surf and Wind Advisories Extended Through Tonight

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for east-facing shores of Maui and Moloka‘ until 6 p.m. today. A Wind Advisory for Maui and Lāna‘i is in effect until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has CONTINUED the HIGH SURF ADVISORY for NORTH FACING SHORES of MOLOKAI and MAUI in effect until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
