Contest officials decided to run the first seven heats of round 2 in the Quik Pro France in solid beach break surf as a new swell filled in. And Albee Layer of Maui lands first ever 720 air.

Hawaii is in for a great weekend of surf. A south/southwest swell that was turning on the reef passes in Tahiti a few days ago has made its way to our southern shores.

The final day at the Hurley Pro was one for the record books in terms of match-ups and performances.

Another south swell is expected for Hawaii, while the pros tear apart Lower Trestles during the Hurley Pro.
