According to the National Weather Service, wet and windy weather is expected to continue today while gradually improving by this afternoon into this evening.

The University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents adopted the rules on Nov. 6, 2019 after a special 11-hour meeting at UH Hilo, where 99 people testified.

Governor David Ige announced the state will be withdrawing personnel from Maunakea Access Road on Hawaiʻi Island where a demonstration against the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope has been ongoing for more than five months.

The Department of Transportation does not allow long-term parking along any high-speed roads. 

State Senate majority leader Kalani English expressed his opposition to the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope in an email he sent on Sunday.

For the second day in a row, a Pāhoa woman was arrested on the Mauna Kea access Road. It was reported that the woman had been disruptive to peaceful protesters and that she had briefly removed her clothing. The incident comes following another encounter with police on early Sunday in which she is accused of allegedly using her car to ram the vehicle of an Office of Mauna Kea Management ranger.
