Day 3: Native Hawaiian Convention

Today marks Day 3 of the 22nd Annual Native Hawaiian Convention, taking place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.  The four-day event was moved to Maui this year to uplift its voices and people following the Aug. 8 wildfires.  

Hawaiʻi Community Foundation Granted $7 Million to 194 Nonprofits, 27 in Maui County

Hawai‘i Community Foundation today announced $7 million in awards from its CHANGE Grants program to 194 nonprofits statewide, including 27 in Maui County, that are working to address some of the state’s most difficult challenges.

Deputy Directors Appointed to DHHL and DAGS

Governor Neil Abercrombie named Michelle Kauhane as Deputy to the Chairman of the Hawaiian Homes Commission, and Jan Gouveia as Deputy Director at DAGS.
