#missing free diver

The Coast Guard suspended its active search Thursday night for a missing 20-year-old free-diver off Hawaiʻi Island.

Search and rescue teams on Sunday evening, suspended their efforts in looking for a missing free diver in East Maui. 41-year-old Joshua Goodwin was last seen on Thursday in the area of Mile 41 in Kipahulu.

Goodwin was last seen on shore near Hāna and was expected to swim out to meet a friend approximately 200 yards away offshore, but never arrived.

The search is underway today for a missing free diver near the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. The search was launched early this morning (Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015) for the man in his 50s after two friends filed a report at 2:40 a.m.
