AARP Dashboard Shows Hawai‘i Nursing Home Death Rate Remains Lowest in Nation

The latest release of AARP’s Nursing Home COVID-19 Dashboard shows nursing homes reported two COVID-19 deaths in Hawaiʻi from Dec. 21 to Jan. 17; however, the per capita death rate remained the lowest in the nation.

Grants Available for Nursing Homes to Buy Visitation Equipment for In-Person Visits

A total of $135,000 is available. Skilled nursing facilities may apply for grants up to $3,000 for equipment that includes clear barriers for indoor visits and tents for outdoor visits.

Roselani Place COVID-19 Cluster Stands at 59 Cases; 12 are Active

The Roselani Place assisted living community on Maui has had a total of 59 COVID-19 infections since mid-August. The positive cases include 31 staff and 28 residents.
