Bad Leak at Old Wailuku Pool Forces Closure

Park staff noticed the leak yesterday, and measured a seven inch water loss over a 12 hour period. It is estimated if the pool continues to lose water at that rate it will be drained empty within seven days.

The pools will be closed for chemical treatment and clean-up on Monday and Tuesday, January 14 and 15, and will reopen on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

Both the Old and New Wailuku pools will be closed for maintenance on Thursday and Friday, May 31 and June 1, 2012. When the Old Wailuku Pool opens up next week, it will be used exclusively for lap swimming during lunchtime hours this summer.

The County of Maui Department of Parks & Recreation, Aquatics Division announced that the Old and New Wailuku Pools will be closed on Monday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 23 for maintenance. The County expects to re-open the pools on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

Algae Treatment Forces Closure of 2 Maui Pools

Algae treatment will be conducted at two Central Maui pools this month. Treatment is planned at the Old Wailuku Pool on Wells Street and the Kokua Pool at the Kahului Community Center.
