A scheduled water service outage will take place in Haʻikū on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

State of Emergency Declared as Heavy Rains Pummel Hawaiian Islands

Governor David Ige on Tuesday evening signed an emergency declaration for the entire state as heavy rains resulted in flooding and landslides. There were also fears of dam failure, prompting evacuations in Haʻikū on Maui on Monday and Haleʻiwa on Oʻahu on Tuesday.

$600K Contract for Ha‘ikū Roadwork Begins

Road resurfacing and other work has started on Peʻahi and Paʻuwela roads in Haʻikū, according to the Maui County Department of Public Works.

The Maui Department of Water Supply is working on repairing a mainline break near the intersection of Peʻahi and Ulumalu Roads in Haʻikū.
