Pio Marasco has made a name for himself both as a sought-after DJ and as the Founder of Nightlife Music Hawaii, which frequently brings world-renowned DJs such as Derrick May, Tony Humphries, and Marques Wyatt to Maui.

Is Maui poised to become the next Ibiza, the Spanish island that is world renowned for its nonstop electronic music club scene? True, we don’t have clubs capable of packing thousands of people on the dance floor, but we do happen to have a growing, thriving scene of dance floor junkies and some of the world’s most renowned DJs are making their way out here to get in on the action.

Moana Café in Paia was the place to be this past Saturday night. Crowds formed outside on the sidewalk, as the packed dance floor inside got funky to the sounds of Pio Marasco and Max Vega. Big smiles and lots of laughter added an extra layer of spark to the sounds of the soulful house grooves.
