Hawai‘i’s fourth Youth Poet Laureate designation was presented to Miya Peterson, a high school senior at O‘ahu’s Punahou School, during a live stream event at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Thursday.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Hawaiʻi’s third youth poet laureate presentations on Friday, April 28, to be livestreamed from the MACC’s Castle Theater beginning at 10 a.m. on the MACC’s website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The Story of Everything, a theater performance written and conceived by Hawai’i Poet Laureate Kealoha, and now a film will be shown at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Nov. 19.

Kalehua Fung is thrilled to have been selected as the 2022 Hawaiʻi Youth Poet Laureate but she’s put her college dreams on hold until she saves enough money for her school tuition and living expenses.

Maui’s W.S.
