Following the success of its 2024 debut, the Hoʻokipa Maui Marketplace returns on May 29, 2025, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.

Since the start of the school year in early August, the Department has reinstated 100 bus routes on O‘ahu, Maui and Hawai‘i Island. Service has been restored for 88% of impacted students – 3,263 out of 3,720. Active efforts to restore 38 more routes are ongoing. 

During community-inspired, County of Maui-supported tours called Remembrance Rides, nearly 600 Lahaina residents last weekend revisited their beloved Lahaina town for the first time since the devastating wildfires. The Remembrance Rides signaled the start of Kuhinia Maui, County-supported gatherings for residents that mark one year after the Aug. 8, 2023, wildfires.

The Maui ALOHA Shuttle service will start on Saturday, July 3, and run through July 17 as a pilot program subsidized by MVCB. It could be extended through the end of this summer.

“Like many local small businesses, my operations have been absolutely devastated by the coronavirus,” said Terry Fischer of Polynesian Adventure, noting that buses sit idle while employees remain at home.

The contracts were awarded to Haleakalā Bike Co. dba Haleakalā EcoTours, Polynesian Adventure Tours, Skyline Eco Adventures, and Valley Isle Excursions.

Executives with Roberts Hawaiʻi say they are looking forward to the opportunity to create value for the company and employees at both operations; and offer an even higher level of ground transportation service to state residents and the visitor industry.
