The state Department of Health’s Maui District Health Office continues its response to the Maui wildfires. Through its Maui District Health Office and local partners, the Department provided updates on behavioral health services, emergency prescription assistance, unsafe water advisories, and the prevention of respiratory and vector-borne diseases.

The practice is known as “balance billing.”  Kaiser calls it “intolerable” saying it “puts patients, who may already be dealing with serious and stressful health issues, in the middle of a contract dispute.”

Molokaʻi General Hospital has been awarded a $41,150 grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to support the Expansion of Services in the Wound Care Clinic.
