The Salvation Army in Hawaii received more than $110,000 in grants and donations to support its outreach programs, including summer feeding programs for the organization’s neighbor island corps in Kahului and Lahaina on Maui. The monetary support for the organization will help continue its outreach efforts to help the community as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact Hawai’i’s economy and its residents.

Maui police are conducting an investigation into a shooting reported early this morning in Kahului near the back of the old Safeway store.

Safeway will anchor the new Hoʻokele Shopping Center, a 94,000-square-foot center located at the gateway to Alexander & Baldwin’s Maui Business Park on Maui.

The 59,000 square-foot store employs 165 team members and is the anchor tenant of the 105,000 square-feet Maui Lani Center. It is the fourth location on Maui, and the 21st store in the state.

Safeway Kahului will host a student-run bone marrow drive to register potential donors and increase awareness of the need for transplants across the state.
