Vaccinated K-12 teachers, students and staff no longer need to wear masks under new guidance issued today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Executives with the Hawaiʻi Sate Teacher’s Association said given unanswered questions, “it’s in the best interest of everyone to wear masks when they are indoors until we reach herd immunity.”

Public school teachers in Hawaii voted against a proposed six year contract during a ratification vote yesterday. Beginning today, the HSTA will initiate a union-wide conversation about options going forward.
