The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health (DOH) recently launched a new public service announcement campaign to motivate people with prediabetes to adopt healthier behaviors to prevent Type 2 diabetes.

Two out of every five Hawai‘i adults have prediabetes, according to officials with the state Department of Health.

According to the department, more than half of all adults in Hawaiʻi have diabetes or prediabetes. Both conditions cause higher-than-normal blood sugar levels that can lead to serious health problems, department official say.
