The US Department of Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) announced the signing of a land lease agreement with the University of Hawaiʻi for a two-acre parcel on the UH Maui College campus. This landmark agreement paves the way for the construction of a state-of-the-art VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) on Maui—a crucial step in expanding equitable, local access to high-quality, Veteran-centric care, and strengthening the partnership between the VA and UH.

Inclement weather from Tuesday’s slow passing cold front resulted in water leaks at the Maui Community Based Outpatient Clinic, located at 203 Hoʻolana Street, Suite 303 in Kahului.

Once finished the Daniel Kahikina Akaka VA Clinic will provide critical health care for veterans living not only in Hawaiʻi, but throughout the Pacific region, and will help expand Tripler Army Medical Center’s capacity to serve veterans as well.
