Maui firefighters responded to two separate incidents on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in which swimmers were pulled from the ocean unresponsive in West Maui. Both individuals are believed to be visitors from China.

A 54-year-old male visitor was pulled from waters by fellow beachgoers at Puʻu Kekaʻa “Black Rock” in Kāʻanapali on Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.
