#Waihee Coastal Dunes

An estimated $3.1 million has been allocated to The Coral Reef Alliance for the restoration and strengthening resilience of Maui Nui Reefs. Thereʻs also $804,000 allocated to the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust for the restoration of loʻi kalo at the Waiheʻe Coastal Dunes and Wetlands Refuge on Maui.

The nonprofit Hawai‘i Land Trust will honor Maui’s Dana Naone Hall as its 2023 Champion of the Land. She will be recognized at the 21st-annual Buy Back the Beach benefit lū‘au for her longtime contributions to land conservation in Hawai‘i. 

Local children’s entertainment group, The Peek-a-Bows, announced the release their third episode entitled “Lōkahi” on New Year’s Eve. This is the last episode of their 3-part mini-series created for young children ages 2-6.

Hawai‘i Land Trust is honoring Susan Bradford and Lucienne de Naie, representing the founders of Maui Coastal Land Trust, as its 2022 Champions of the Land.

The Hawai‘i Land Trust, a Hawaiʻi 501(c)3 nonprofit that protects, stewards, and works to connect people to the lands that sustain Hawaiʻi, has partnered with the University of Hawai‘i Maui College on a new environmental stewards leadership program.

Hawaiʻi Land Trust received $50,000 to support iwi kūpuna protection at Hawaiʻi Land Trust’s 277-acre Waihe‘e Coastal Dunes & Wetlands Refuge on Maui.
