Nominations are being sought for women who have succeeded against great odds, and whose diversity of experience demonstrates both the challenges and the opportunities they have faced.

The third meeting for the 100 Women Who Care Maui will be held on Aug. 27 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Maui Country Club (upstairs). Interested parties are asked to bring a “$100 blank check, a friend and a smile.”

Maui County’s Committee on the Status of Women celebrated Women’s History month with the annual “Women of Excellence” awards presentation on Tuesday, March 31, in the Mayor’s Conference Room.

BJ Allen will present a lecture and demonstration on equestrian women riders of the 1800s and the development of pāʻū riding units on Sunday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s McCoy Studio Theater.

The Committee on the Status of Women is now accepting nominations for its “Women of Excellence” awards program. In conjunction with this year’s national theme observing Women’s History Month, the program will celebrate “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives.”

Twenty-one individuals in Maui County were nominated for recognition at the upcoming Women’s History Month celebration, hosted by the Maui Committee on the Status of Women.
