The Public Access Room is offering two new workshops at several different locations on Maui to help the public with effective lobbying at the legislature.

The Sustainable Living Institute of Maui will offer a three-day workshop to learn and practice the art of building with bamboo on Oct. 31 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Nov. 14 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Nov. 21 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

“Minding Your Own Business: Entrepreneurial Psychology Basics and You,” a workshop offered twice this week by Maui Economic Development Board, explored the connection between psychology and business, and spurred attendees to look inward for the keys to their own success.

The lineup of free (unless otherwise stated) workshops offered by the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development has been announced for April.

The County of Maui is holding a free workshop called “Marketing and Networking for Success on Maui” for volunteer leaders, managers, HandsOn Maui partners and Hawaiʻi Network of Volunteer Leaders members. The session will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary in Kīhei.

“Startup Weekend Maui,” scheduled for May 15 to 17, will be held in Kīhei at two locations within the Maui Research & Technology Park: the Maui Research and Technology Center at 590 Līpoa Parkway, and the Maui Research & Technology Center at 1305 North Holopono St.

A fundraising fundamentals course will be held on April 14 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for fundraising professionals. The 16-hour course, titled “AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising,” will take place at the J. Walter Cameron Center’s conference room in Wailuku.

The County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns Office on Aging will sponsor a healthy living workshop beginning Monday, June 18, entitled “Better Choices…Better Health.”
