Kuau Beach on Maui remains closed today following a sewage spill at the location last week Friday, September 16.

The public is advised to stay out of the water fronting the Kahului end of Kuau Beach Place.

An estimated 5,200 gallons of wastewater was discharged during the incident due to a malfunction of pump #4 at the nearby pump station.
