Maui’s Polipoli Springs State Recreation Area on Maui remains closed following heavy rains last week.

Road conditions at the Maui park remain hazardous since the facility was closed on Friday.

“Though inconvenient, these closures are in the interest of public safety, until conditions improve and any needed repairs can be made. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation,” said William J. Aila, DLNR Chairperson.

The Polipoli closure is among three state facilities where closures continue.

On Kauai, the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park remains closed; and on Oahu, Haena State Park remains closed after a landslide on Sunday at the nearby county park blocked access to the state facility.
