The 2012 Maui County Disaster Expo comes to the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on June 2, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We’ve expanded from the previous Hurricane Expos to Disaster Expo to include other hazards,” said Marc Nishimoto, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner with the Maui District Health Office.
In addition to exhibitors on the ground floor, there will be short presentations by representatives from several agencies on the second floor, next to the theaters.
“Preparedness saves lives and knowing how to prepare is an important first step,” said Nishimoto.
There will be experts from various agencies at the Expo, including several from Oahu and the Big Island of Hawai’i.
