Maui Services Planned for Sen. Inouye

A Maui memorial service will be held for US Senator Daniel Inouye this week Saturday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

The memorial includes visitation at 9 a.m., followed by service at 10 a.m. at the Castle Theater.

The memorial is one of three neighbor island services taking place this week.

The others include:

  • Hilo at the Afook-Chinen auditorium on Thursday, December 27, 12 p.m. visitation, 1 p.m. service.
  • Kauai’s War Memorial Convention Hall on Friday, December 28, 2012, 4 p.m. visitation, 5 p.m. service.

A service was held on Oahu over the weekend at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.  Dignitaries attending that event included President Barak Obama.

US Sen. Ino­uye died on Dec. 17, 2012 after suffering from respiratory complications.  He was 88.
