No Tsunami Threat to Hawaiʻi After 6.5 Fiji Quake

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a 6.5 (preliminary magnitude 6.8) earthquake reported at 5:53 a.m. HST on Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Fiji Region, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The USGS reports that the quake was located: 87 miles SSW of Sigave, Wallis and Futuna; 148 miles ENE of Lambasa, Fiji; 267 miles NE of Suva, Fiji; 308 miles ENE of Nadi, Fiji; and 447 miles NNW of Nuku`alofa, Tonga.
