Trade Wind Weather Expected Today

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Pailolo and ʻAlenuihāhā channels as well as Māʻalaea Bay through 6:00 p.m. Friday. Northeast winds of 20 – 25 knots and rough seas of 7 to 12 feet are expected. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Today we expect high temperatures from 85° to 90°. Northeast winds are expected from 15 – 20 mph. Partly cloudy skies with scattered showers for windward and mauka areas. Leeward spots will be mostly sunny.

Tonight
Northeast winds are expected around 15 mph tonight. Partly cloudy skies with isolated showers for leeward areas – scattered showers after midnight. Windward spots are expected to get scattered showers and mostly cloudy skies. Low temperatures from 72° to 77° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Moderate to locally breezy trade winds are expected across the islands Friday. An increase in showers and humidity is expected from Friday afternoon through the weekend as a weak disturbance and remnant moisture from former tropical cyclone Enrique spreads westward across the state. The trade winds will also weaken and remain light into the middle portion of next week.
