Today
Today we expect high temperatures from 85° to 90°. East winds are expected from 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts. Mostly sunny skies with scattered showers for windward and mauka areas. Leeward spots will get just isolated showers.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
East winds are expected around 15 mph. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected with scattered showers. Low temperatures from 73° to 78° are expected.
Looking Ahead
Moderate trades will continue through the rest of the weekend and into Monday. Showers will increase as moisture associated with former tropical depression 8°E reaches the islands during the next couple of days. The forecast for next week will be highly dependent on the eventual track of hurricane Guillermo.
Hurricane Guillermo Update
Model data show the trades gradually decreasing early next week as hurricane Guillermo moves closer to the state from the east. The tropical cyclone will then bring a disruption of the trades, but it is too early to have a concrete idea of specific impacts for the islands. For now, the forecast trend is for increasing cloud cover and showers for the second half of next week. We will keep an eye on this system and make changes to the forecast as the system gets closer and the forecast becomes more certain.
