Looking Ahead
A slight increase in trade winds is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday before winds are forecast to drop off later in the week. Clouds and passing showers will tend to favor windward and mauka areas with just a few showers expected elsewhere.
The latest forecast track for hurricane Olaf shows the system moving northward far east of the Hawaiian Islands over the weekend. If the forecast holds, Olaf is not expected to directly impact our weather but will bring warning level surf to some east shores. We will keep an eye on this and bring you the latest.
Today
Today we expect mostly sunny skies with morning showers likely in windward and mauka areas and scattered showers in the afternoon. Just isolated showers are expected for leeward spots. High temperatures from 84° to 89°. East winds are forecast from 15 to 20 mph.
UV index at 8 (“very high” exposure level)
Tonight
East winds are forecast around 15 mph. Low temperatures from 72° to 77°. Partly cloudy skies are expected with scattered windward showers and isolated leeward showers.
