Traffic Advisory: Vehicle Fire on Honoapiʻilani Highway Near Mile 7

The Honoapiʻilani Highway is now open in both directions following a vehicle fire reported at around 12:54 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016.  Police said all roads were open in both directions by 2:46 p.m. The vehicle fire was reported near Mile 7 of the Honoapiʻilani Highway near McGergor Point in Māʻalaea.

Emergency crews temporarily closed the highway between Mile 7 and 10 while they conducted response operations, but had implemented a contraflow at approximately 1:11 p.m., and reopened the road by 2:46 p.m.  We also have reports that the brush fire was contained as of 1:04 p.m.
