A High Surf Advisory is posted for the north shores of Molokai and Maui through 6 a.m. Monday.

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday for all Maui County windward waters and most channels.

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

North: Well overhead surf is expected today. Some northern exposures could get up to double overhead with the best breaks reaching  up to 15 foot faces occasionally.

West: Wrap from the northwest swell affecting some western shores today. Spots along the western coast will vary greatly in size based on the amount of exposure. Most spots will be pretty flat.

South: Wave heights are waist high or less today.

Screen Shot 2016-02-28 at 7.17.04 PMOld and fading northwest swell mixes with new northwest. A new northwest swell is expected to build Monday evening into Tuesday with another round on tap for the weekend.

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

A fun size bump could fill in around March 7 – 9 for southern exposures. Chest to head high sets are possible with this swell.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
