Police Release Photo of Alleged Theft Suspect
The Maui Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying the man in the attached photo. Police say the suspect is responsible for an alleged theft incident reported at around 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Police say the unidentified man in the photo allegedly entered the Kīhei Safeway Store and stole items. Authorities did not specify what was taken, but say it was valued at $504.54.
Authorities say the man was confronted by store security personnel; however he fled the scene on foot.
Police say the man appears to be between 30 and 40 years of age, with dark colored hair with some graying on the sides. He is approximately 5’8” tall and weighs approximately 150 to 175 pounds. He also appears to have a sleeve tattoo on both of his arms/forearms. Police say the man was last seen wearing a blue tank top with a wide gray stripe across the chest and gray shorts.
