    Looking Ahead

    Breezy trade winds are expected through next week. Locally strong trades will ease a bit Sunday. Stable conditions will limit the intensity and coverage of trade wind showers. Showers may become more active Sunday into next week.

    Partly cloudy with scattered windward showers in the morning. Leeward spots should be mostly sunny with isolated showers. Northeast winds are expected from 15 to 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph. High temperatures from 83° to 88°.

    Tonight

    Northeast winds are expected from 15 to 25 mph. Scattered showers for windward spots with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Clearer skies are forecast for lee areas. Low temperatures from 71° to 76°.

    Malika was born and raised in Hilo. She began her career in news at KGMB9 in 2007. As a part of their weather team, Malika was nominated for two Emmy Awards and won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Journalism Award for her reporting on Hawaii’s tsunami damage in 2011.
