Residence Inn By Marriott Makes Its Aloha Debut In Wailea

Marriott International, Inc. in partnership with R.D. Olson Development has opened Hawaii’s first Residence Inn by Marriott Maui Wailea.

On Sept. 15, 2016, the newly constructed hotel hosted a maile lei ribbon untying ceremony and grand opening celebration.

“We are thrilled to unveil Residence Inn Maui Wailea, not only because it marks the brand’s debut inHawaii, but because it signifies Residence Inn’s expansion into more leisure destinations,” said Diane Mayer, Residence Inn vice president and global brand manager.

Mayer continued, “Residence Inn is the ideal hotel brand for Maui and its consumers who travel from distant places as well as from neighboring islands.  As the leader in the extended stay category, the brand combines the best of conventional hotels with signature features that meet the needs of every type of travel circumstance – families; friend getaways; special occasions and romantic rendezvous.  Residence Inn offers guests the flexibility to enjoy their stay their way.”

Olson continued, “We focus on integrating details that complement the local area of our hotels into the design and we hope that guests will enjoy the many nods to the Hawaiian culture that we have incorporated into the Residence Inn Wailea.”

Set against a contemporary Hawaiian motif, the all-suite hotel consists of studio, one and two bedroom offerings.  Each suite boasts spacious living zones and fully equipped kitchens.  The upscale furnishings; deluxe bedding; flat screen TVs; functional work surfaces, and generous lanais (balconies) that open to a views of the ocean or mountainside.

The Great Room leads to the outdoor living area where guests can utilize the outdoor pool and hot tub and the patio bar with fire pits.  Also outdoors, guests have the option of putting on the golf green or shooting hoops at the Sport Court, with Maui’s natural landscape serving as a backdrop.

Residence Inn’s signature services and amenities including: complimentary hot breakfast, free grocery delivery service; fitness center; Wi-Fi; business center, and laundry facilities are available to all guests.  The property also features a 24/7 Market, which provides easy access to grab-and-go snacks and sundries.  The Residence Inn Wailea Maui also accepts pets.

The property contains 1,800 square feet of indoor function space, which breaks out into the Molokai and Molokini meeting rooms, and a lush green lawn for outdoor special events.  The 410 square-foot Boardroom is complete with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment and designed to accommodate business meetings.

In addition to the resort-like features, Residence Inn Maui Wailea offers guests convenient access to The Shops at Wailea, three championship golf courses at Wailea Golf Club, Wailea Tennis Club and three beaches: Makena, Wailea and Ulua.
