    Improving weather is expected on Monday. A gradual return to a trade wind weather pattern will begin with trade winds continuing for the rest of the week. Clouds and passing showers will favor windward and mauka spots.

    Partly sunny skies are expected with scattered showers. High temperatures from 80° to 85°. East winds from 15 to 20 mph.

    Tonight

    East winds around 15 to 20 mph. Partly to mostly cloudy skies with scattered windward showers and isolated leeward showers. Low temperatures from 69° to 74°.

    Malika was born and raised in Hilo. She began her career in news at KGMB9 in 2007. As a part of their weather team, Malika was nominated for two Emmy Awards and won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Journalism Award for her reporting on Hawaii’s tsunami damage in 2011.
