Kaiser Permanente Adds Three New Physicians on Maui

Six doctors have joined Kaiser Permanente on Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi Island–this includes three new physicians on Maui. They add to Kaiser Permanente’s team of more than 600 healthcare providers in Hawaiʻi’s largest medical practice, the Hawaiʻi Permanente Medical Group, which serves Kaiser Permanente’s 250,000-plus members in Hawaiʻi.

Ann Hau, MD, is an anesthesiologist at Moanalua Medical Center on Oʻahu. She received her bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Health Science Center. She was chief resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Harvard Medical School, and a fellow in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Hau is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Mason Turner, MD, is a psychiatrist at the Maui Lani Medical Office. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dartmouth and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his internship and psychiatric residency at Harvard Medical School. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and he served as director of outpatient mental health and addiction medicine for Kaiser Permanente Northern California.

Tracy Kuranaka, MD, is an integrated behavioral health specialist at the Waipio Medical Office. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii and her medical degree from the University of Hawaii John Burns School of Medicine. She completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. She is a board certified adult psychiatrist.

Tiffinie Mercado, MD, is an ob/gyn at the Wailuku Medical Office. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in genetics as well as her medical degree from the University of Kansas. She was the chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Mercado is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Irminne Van Dyken, MD, is a surgeon at the Wailuku Medical Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from Montana State University in cell biology and neuroscience with a minor in biochemistry. She earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and she is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Laszlo Steven Tekler, DO, has joined the cardiology department at the Kona Medical Office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in science and biology. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Tekler is board certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in cardiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, board certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and board certified as a registered physician in vascular interpretation.
