Our Revolution Hawai’i Endorses Cochran for Mayor

Our Revolution Hawai‘i has endorsed Elle Cochran for the office of Mayor of Maui County, according to a Friends of Elle Cochran announcement released on Oct. 16, 2018.

The endorsement was given because “she has demonstrated a commitment to a clean, healthy and safe environment for the people of Hawai‘i.”

Her campaign is in line with Our Revolution’s mission to reclaim democracy for the working people of our country by harnessing the transformative energy of the “political revolution.”

Through supporting a new generation of progressive leaders, empowering millions to fight for progressive change and elevating the political consciousness, Our Revolution strives to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families.

Our Revolution is excited about endorsing Elle Cochran’s campaign for Maui County mayor because women are under represented in the Hawaiʻi’s government.

Although women are half of the population of Hawaiʻi, they are less than 32% of elected officials. We need more women like Elle who are dedicated to the needs of the people of Hawaiʻi.

Other endorsements include Sierra Club, SAFE Sustainable Action Fund for the Environment, Unite Here! Local 5 and Pono Network.
