Trades Weaken a Tad, Drier Conditions This Weekend

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County channels and Māʻalaea Bay through 6:00 p.m. Sunday. East winds up to 30 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 10 to 13 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Mostly sunny skies are expected today with isolated windward showers. Winds are expected out of the east from 15 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 79° to 84° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations (see graphic above).

Tonight
Partly cloudy in windward and mauka spots with scattered showers overnight. Partly cloudy for leeward areas with isolated showers. Low temperatures from 68° to 73°. East winds from 15 to 20 mph.
Sunday
Sunday we expect partly cloudy skies and scattered windward showers. Isolated showers are forecasted for leeward areas. Most showers will occur at night. Winds are expected out of the east from 15 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 79° to 84° and low temperatures from 68° to 73°.
Looking Ahead
Trade winds are expected to gradually weaken to moderate to locally fresh breezes on Saturday. Drier conditions are forecasted this weekend, with a slight increase in showers next week. Trade winds will focus more of the precipitation across windward areas.
