The latest plan updates the Lānaʻi Planning Commission Final Draft version and incorporates the committee’s recommendations to date.

Proposed revisions to the draft Lānaʻi Community Plan update are now available on the council’s web site, Planning Committee Chair Don Couch announced today.

Committee Chair Don Couch said the bill prohibits a home business from generating greater traffic than would normally be expected in a neighborhood. It also prohibits hours of operation that would interfere with the use and enjoyment of adjacent properties.

Saturday’s primary election featured four Maui council races, each of which were narrowed to the top two vote-getters in each district.

Don Couch is a candidate for the County Council, South Maui seat. He is among a list of four individuals identified as candidates on the 2014 ballot.

The property was purchased by the County of Maui from A&B for an estimated $5.2 million, in a deal which closed on Sept. 27.

A bill that would permit and regulate home-based businesses in certain county zoning districts, surfaces for consideration before the Maui Planning Committee at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, in the Council Chamber.
