Find weather related road closures here: South Kīhei Road is closed from North Kīhei Road to Uwapo Road. Pi’ilani Highway, Mile Marker 30-32, back side of Kaupō. Hāna Highway, Mile Marker 23. 

A portion of South Kīhei Road, Baldwin Beach Park in Pāʻia and the Central Maui Landfill will remain closed overnight, while officials assess damages from flooding caused by heavy rains that occurred Friday, Jan. 27.

A Maui man was pulled unresponsive from waters off of East Maui in Kaupō on Saturday morning, June 29, 2019.

Stranded individuals tell us they were stuck overnight on the Piilani Highway in East Maui where two rivers flooded and washed out a section of the road.

Actions include control of feral goats, pigs, dogs, and axis deer within 1,885 fenced acres of the Haleakalā National Park lands at Nu’u in East Maui Maui.

An Environmental Assessment for the management and removal of feral animals in the upper elevations of Nu‘u, Maui, is now available for review and comment.

Maui’s Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is getting $7.3 million in stimulus funds through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  The funds will be used for the design and construction of an energy efficient administrative and visitors building that replaces a structure that was previously destroyed by fire.
