Curbside trash pickup routes in Kula and Haʻikū/Paʻuwela areas resumes Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, after missed routes Friday, according to the County of Maui Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division.

The 25th anniversary of the Molokaʻi 2 OʻahuPaddleboard World Championships (M2O), presented by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority is set to welcome an international field of athletes who will cover more than 32 miles across the Kaiwi Channel, launching from the coastline of Moloka’i and finishing on O’ahu.

A lane of Kokomo Road will be closed from Ala Olu Place to Haiku Road from 9 p.m. June 3 to 5 a.m. June 4, 2021. Following site preparation and excavation, water service will be out for five hours from midnight to 5 a.m. June 4 to make necessary repairs.

“It will not solve the lack of inventory on the island,” but developers say it will offer the benefits of home ownership to residents in a market where rents are often in excess of the monthly payment on a home.
