Koa Partners announced that they will host a community presentation and listening session regarding the revised Piʻilani Promenade Project on Monday, Sept. 17.

Developers for the proposed Piʻilani Promenade in South Maui are requesting comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement they filed for a mixed-use development in Kīhei.

The project calls for the development of a mix of light industrial and business/commercial uses with approximately 226 apartment units on 75 acres of land mauka of the Piʻilani Highway in North Kīhei. The Draft EIS is subject to a 45-day public review and comment period that runs through October 7th.

The Kīhei Youth Center received a $1,500 donation from the representatives of the proposed Piʻilani Promenade project in South Maui. This is the second donation from the project to the youth center this year.

Current plans call for the development of a mix of business/commercial, light industrial and apartment uses on 75 acres of land in South Maui. As part of a workforce housing ordinance, 25% of the apartments will be offered for rent as affordable units.

The money will be matched with other donations, and will be used to support educational programs including financial literacy, cultural, and Hawaiian language programs at the center, according to an announcement.

Sarofim Realty Advisors is proposing the development of a mixed-use light industrial and commercial/business project. The project also includes plans for 200 apartment units and a Maui Electric Company substation on the nearly 75-acre project site.

The GLA Maui Outlet center and Piilani Promenade are proposed for construction on land just north of the planned Kihei High School on the mauka side of the Piilani Highway near the Kaonoulu Street intersection.
