The Hawaii Renewable Energy Development Venture is seeking input from entrepreneurs, investors, and energy companies on development of its new energy accelerator program.

Beginning today, January 13, First Wind will begin transporting large wind turbines from the Maui Research and Technology Park in Kihei to Kaheawa Wind II, a wind farm located above Ma’alaea.

Yesterday, Sempra Generation, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, announced that it has entered into a 20-year contract to sell 21 megawatts (MW) of wind energy to Maui Electric Company from the Auwahi Wind project on the Ulupalakua Ranch.
