With his disarming charm and spicy cultural commentary, Lopez pays perpetual homage to the Hispanic community, mixing up his languages, his subject matter, and his accents.

A Mexican-American born in Los Angeles, Lopez has quickly risen to icon status in the Latino community and beyond. His resume stretches from standup comedian, to radio host, to television star, to late night talk show host.

Known for being outspoken on issues of race, immigration and other such taboo subjects, Lopez finds a way to make every listener feel drawn in and welcome in the midst of his culturally blown out storytelling.

“Everyone in the audience would be laughing, and suddenly we’d all realize we were actually thinking about social issues in a whole new way,” said attendee, Amanda Moore. “He’s good at making you see the common experience in his stories by magnifying stereotypes.”

With bitingly candid reflections on the strong presence of Latino culture in America, Lopez brings light to many of the immigration issues being thrown around by modern day politicians. “When people ask what part of Mexico I’m from, I say “Los Angeles,” he says in one of his skits.

Lopez may have sold out the house tonight, but he’s a far cry from selling out. Tonight’s show proves once again that the people of Maui love to be entertained and they like to be challenged to think at the same time!

It also proves that if you want to be entertained, you’d best buy your tickets far in advance!
