Hawaii Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense today confirmed the death of a Hawaii soldier.  Cpl. Kevin W. White  of New York died May 2nd in the Kunar province of Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, out of Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

Military reports indicate Cpl. White died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.

Cpl. White was 22 years old.
