A group of Maui windsurfing icons and founders of the water clean up organization +H20 will be heading to the Maldives this fall to host a major gathering of water conservationists, celebrities, and water sports icons at the Six Senses Resort and Spa. The event will raise funds for water clean up initiatives worldwide.

From September 30- October 4th, +H2o is thrilled to be partnering with Six Senses, Water Charity, Blue Marine Foundation, Fabien Cousteau, and Plant a Fish to present WATERMEN 2011. This event is the Maldives’ first gathering of water sports icons and the world’s leading water conservationists

Founded by Maui windsurfers Levi Siver, Jake Miller, Keith Teboul, and Pascal Bronnimann, +H20’s mission is to, “Unite a global network of passionate water enthusiasts dedicated to clean water and clean living initiatives for communities around the world.” They launched this initiative on Maui last year by sponsoring a North Shore beach clean up in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation Maui and Community Work Day.

Watermen, from legendary surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers to divers and free divers will offer clinics to Six Senses Laamu guests while renowned musicians jam on the sandbanks. Participants in the Maldives Waterman 2011 event include Buzzy Kerbox, Kai Lenny, Matt Meola, Fabien Cousteau, Jane Seymour, Jason Mraz, and Sylvia Earle.

In addition, conservationists will lead riveting dialogues and debates on the most pressing marine and drinking water issues facing our planet today while chefs keep everyone sustained with ethically sourced gourmet food, best enjoyed with biodynamic wines from Australia’s Margaret River.

Packages for likeminded water enthusiasts to participate in this exciting, one-of-a-kind mind expanding gathering are available for four nights (US$6,000 for two people or US$4,400 single) and seven nights (US$9,900 for two people or US$ 7,400 single) including all breakfasts and dinners, the Barefoot Gala Dinner, a limited number of clinics or spa treatments and round trip seaplane transfer flights.
