County crews begin the installation of new pavement along Mahalani Street in Kahului on Monday, June 6, 2011.  The work will result in a contraflow of traffic in some areas.

Crews from the Department of Public Works will begin work weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.  The project is expected to last about 11 weeks, ending on August 18th.

There will be workers with traffic flags in the construction zone.  Motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible, and to follow traffic control signs in the work area.
