Safety Assessed at Hui Aloha Playground Structure

Parks officials on Maui have closed a wooden playground structure located within Hui Aloha playground at the Keopuolani Park in Kahului due to safety concerns.  Access and use of the wooden structure is temporarily closed while repair and replacement options are being evaluated.

The public is asked to stay away from the structure until the fencing is removed and the playground has been re-opened.

Officials from the County of Maui Department of Parks & Recreation expressed appreciation for the community’s support and patience during the closure period.
