You may not notice any palm tree-lined, luxury resorts in the North Shore town of Haiku. But tucked away and out of the tourist scene, Haiku happens to be quite an oasis for those in search of a little relaxation and pampering.  The best part is that you don’t have to break the bank to have a luxurious experience.

Maui Now has taken to the streets of Haiku town to visit some of Kokomo Road’s best healing arts centers, day spas, and dining options to provide you with this plan for a guilt-free $100 spa day.

The day begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Studio Maui for Karin Kuhn’s Gentle Flow yoga class. You can feel the serenity the moment you walk in this gorgeous and spacious facility located in the Haiku Town Center near Haiku Grocery. Gentle flow is perfect for beginners through more advanced practitioners. Karin guides students to follow their breath as they move through poses slowly and deeply. This practice releases deep held patterns of physical and emotional tension. For added relaxation, Karin adds soothing music to create an atmosphere that is deeply relaxing and nourishing.

The Cost: $15

After yoga, it’s time for a snack. Head over to the Tribe bus at the front of the Haiku town center parking lot. Don’t let the junkyard vibe scare you away. Owner Jason Skandunas is one of Maui’s top chefs and the Tribe cuisine is healthy and fresh. Think fresh juices, homemade soups, and some of the best vegan middle-eastern and Mediterranean food on Maui.  Previous brunch items include Belgium waffles with coconut keifer whipped cream, acai goji berry maple syrup, and fresh fruit.

The Cost: Approx. $15

After yoga, the next stop is The Temple of Peace where its time to sweat out those toxins. Located on Kokomo Rd just before the Haiku Town Center, The Temple of Peace is a non-denominational spiritual center and is also home to the Aqualani Spa. The Aqualani Spa features an infrared sauna, herbal steam room, hot tub, and cold plunge pool at an affordable rate of only $20 for two hours of healing time.  The spa opens on Saturdays at 2 p.m.
