Volunteers Sought For Maui Marathon

Volunteers are being sought for the 41st Annual Maui Marathon and Half Marathon taking place Friday, September 16, 2011.
The Marathon event also includes a Health & Wellness Expo and Lu’au, to be held at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa in Ka’anapali.
The County of Maui Volunteer Center and the Maui Marathon are teaming up to recruit individuals willing to help. Volunteers are needed for the following:
- September 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Expo work, including greeting participants, registration and staffing the information booth.
- September 17 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. to assist with the Lu’au.
The Maui Marathon course is considered one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world with 17 miles of the 24+ mile course stretching along the scenic coastline. It starts in Kahului at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center and continue to Whalers Village in Ka’anapali. The event raises thousands of dollars for local charities annually.
